JESUS CHRIST AT THE CENTER

Short-Term Counseling

Walking out of the darkness of sexual sin and into the light of Christ, affects not just men, but others around them. Eph5min works with participants local church, or can provide short-term shepherding to individuals in need. Wives of men can also find resources and counseling by contacting Eph5min.

Long-Term Discipleship

Our goal is to be used by God to change the world for His Glory and through His power. Every man needs a mature believer to show him what it is like to follow and love God with all of his heart, mind and soul. Eph5min works with local churches or has men ready to actively (weekly) mentor a man and deepen His walk and love of the Lord..

Expectations

The purpose of this group is to provide shepherding and biblical discipleship in order to help men overcome the stronghold of sexual sin in their lives. The goal of this group is to study God’s Word regularly and facilitate positive relationships among men in order to encourage one another, bear each other’s burdens, and grow closer to the Lord.

We agree to the following values:

1.     Priority. Because we believe in the value of community, we agree to give priority to our group meetings. If we are running late or will miss a meeting, we will give notice. If an individual misses more than meeting, it may result in dismissal from the group.

2.     Homework. We commit to being held accountable for completing reading assignments and homework on time, and in addition commit to spending a minimum of one hour a day in total praying and reading the Bible, with at least 30 minutes of that hour reading the Bible.

3.     Confidentiality. We agree that whatever is shared here stays here. This includes what is shared through phone calls, e-mails, etc. We want this group to be a safe place to grow.

4.     Participation. We agree to encourage, support, and stand behind one another, and to participate in group dialogue, without dominating the conversation. We also agree that our participation will be focused on our growth and journey, not on the sinfulness of those that have hurt us.

5.     Accessibility. We agree to be open to give one another the right to call/text/email in times of need or to reach out with encouragement.

6.     Openness. We will seek to be open and honest with each other. Our small group is a place where we can take off our masks.

7.     Respect. We agree to communicate in ways that are respectful, and to give advice only when it is requested. We will strive to be available to one another and listen, encourage, support, and tell the truth in loving ways.

8.     Truth. We agree to defer to the Bible, God’s Word, as the truth, above all other worldly wisdom, including psychology.

9.     Mentor. We agree to be in prayer for and in pursuit of a Christian man who loves the Lord and is more mature in the faith than we are, to serve as a mentor to meet with on a regular basis and to reach out to when in need. If you are unsure of how to choose the right mentor, someone from Ephesians 5 will help come alongside you in finding the right person.
